How did we start?
In November 2014, Kin-Ching visited the TGIF Toastmasters Club in Taipei, Taiwan and was very touched by the welcome and the atmosphere of this wonderful Toastmasters Club that is established by Christians. This inspired him to try to start a Christian Toastmasters Club in Hong Kong. Subsequently, during a meeting for an upcoming Club Officers Training, Kin-Ching met Judy, who also shared a similar vision to have a Toastmasters Club for Christians. After rounds of discussions and grace by the Lord, more brothers and sisters joined in and the club held its first demo meeting on 14 June 2015. With the grace from the Lord and the support from the Toastmasters community in Hong Kong, Shatin Evangel Toastmasters Club is officially chartered on 1 March 2016.
The SETM Vision
The SETM will be a Toastmasters Club where members can improve their communication and leadership skills, which will help them in the spreading of the God's gospel, as well as in their daily lives.
